Valle de Abdalajís is our closest little white village.
It is situated 358 meters above sea level and has about 3.000 inhabitants.
The village is in front of the mountain "Sierra del
Valle de Abdalajís" and it is from this mountain you can try out
hang-gliding or paragliding. From these activities the village has received it's
nickname of "Capital del vuelo".
Valle de Abdalajís has always been on the road between
Antequera and the valley of Guadalhorce. Because of this the village has a lot of history
and several archeological remains have been found here. The town hall has an informative
website in Spanish and English and you may find more information there.

As all the local villages in this area there is the annual fair, around
10. of August every year. The "Cristo de la Sierra" is celebrated every year during the first
weekend of May with processions to and from Málaga. The Easter week is also one of the big annual
celebrations with processions.
Every Thursday there is a market in town where they sell fruit,
vegetables, clothing and several other things. |
